Few Facts About Four Essential Oil

Essential oils are natural organic products derived from aromatic plants. Also referred to as ethereal or volatile oils, essential oils do not contain any chemical-based properties. With the help of distillation process, essential oils are extracted from plants. Apart from that, few other procedures may be administered, such as expression, solvent extraction, depending on the type of the plants. In this article, we will shed light on four essential oil properties. These include ginger, lemon, tea tree and rosemary.

Ginger

Since ancient times, ginger has received extensive respect in the domain of alternative medicine. A wide number of studies have confirmed that it is rich with anti-inflammatory, anesthetic, anticoagulant and expectorant properties. Essential oil like ginger is used to maintain warmth, invigoration and decongestion purposes. The most important properties of ginger are that it works greatly as a blood regulator as well as being an excellent digestive aid. However, you must avoid using it if you have existing inflammatory skin disorders.

Lemon

Lemon has a potent anti-oxidant property. In addition, it offers great support to our immune system. Blessed with antiseptic properties, this essential oil offers best curative solution to people suffering from flu, asthma, colds or bronchitis. It effectively influences our blood circulation process. Apart from that, lemon essential oil works as a great stimulant for digestive system and offers a strong protective shield against any sort of contagious diseases. However, it is phototoxic in nature, which means one should avoid using it during sun exposure.

Tea Tree

In modern days, tea tree essential oil is becoming increasingly popular. Scientifically referred to as Melaleuca alternifolia, tea tree essential oil contains properties like anti-fungal and antiseptic properties. Essential oil like tea tree has bacteria killing properties, especially those ones responsible for acne formation. Studies have shown that the properties of essential oil like tea tree have almost similar effect like benzoyl peroxide, however, without any skin irritation or dry feelings. One important note: You must not directly apply tea tree oil over your skin, or else it may produce a serious burning effect.

Rosemary

Similar to tea tree essential oil, rosemary essential oil has several health benefits. The properties of rosemary essential oil include antiseptic, stimulant, astringent and anti-fatigue. It even successfully enhances memory level. The aromatic properties of this essential oil are simply outstanding since this herb can be used in various ways. If you are suffering from chronic chest cold, vaporizing rosemary essential oil can offer you good results. However, there are some cautions for using this herb. People suffering from epilepsy must avoid it due to its stimulant property. Although rare, few people may experience skin irritation after using rosemary essential oil so patch test first.
